Methodology
How we rank UK GLP-1 clinics and pharmacies
PeptideClear ranks clinics and pharmacies offering GLP-1 medications (Mounjaro, Wegovy, Saxenda) for weight management. All listed providers are GPhC-registered. The ranking criteria differentiate within that compliant base.
Inclusion criteria (mandatory floor)
- · UK-licensed pharmacy with GPhC registration verified at listing and annually.
- · Prescriber on payroll or under contract with named GMC registration (not anonymous).
- · Published, transparent pricing on the public site.
- · Published switching, pause, and cancellation terms.
- · At least 12 months of UK trading history for GLP-1 specifically.
- · Published transparency on complaints handling and patient-facing policies.
- · No grey-market or compounded GLP-1 supply.
- · Cold-chain delivery infrastructure verified for tirzepatide and semaglutide.
Ranking criteria (weighted)
- Onboarding rigour (20%): full clinical consultation > pharmacist video call > questionnaire-only.
- Coach and check-in cadence (15%): weekly coach plus prescriber > monthly coach > no coach.
- Cost per typical maintenance month (15%): includes medication plus required service fees, normalised to maintenance dose.
- Switching policy clarity (10%): Wegovy to Mounjaro and vice versa with documented washout, restart dose, programme continuity.
- Maintenance-dose policy (10%): explicit maintenance pathway > available on request > not offered.
- Hormonal-context care (10%): HRT or fertility-aware co-prescribing, particularly relevant for women's clinics.
- UK delivery coverage and turnaround (10%): next-working-day UK-wide is the benchmark.
- Published transparency (10%): GPhC or CQC registration, clear complaints handling, and patient-facing policy disclosure score top.
High-touch vs low-touch differentiation
Clinics are categorised as high-touch (Numan, Voy, Manual, Juniper) or low-touch (Phlo, Pharmacy2U, SimplyMeds, Boots Online Doctor, Asda Online Doctor). The two categories are ranked separately because they serve different user needs. A high-touch clinic ranked first and a low-touch pharmacy ranked first are answers to different questions, not competitors.
What we explicitly do not measure
- · Clinical outcomes for individual users (we do not solicit or publish weight-loss outcomes by name).
- · Brand marketing spend or visibility (top-of-funnel reach is not a ranking signal).
- · Whether the clinic markets to specific demographics in advertising.
Refresh cadence
Rankings are reviewed quarterly. Material change triggers immediate re-review: pricing change > 10%, switching-policy change, GPhC registration change, prescriber turnover at the clinic, or a change in published complaints handling or patient-facing policies.
Conflict of interest
PeptideClear takes no commission or referral fee from any clinic it writes about. Outbound links are ordinary, untracked links, and inclusion in directories is on the same editorial criteria for every clinic.
